Tecate Industry's Expanded Distribution Agreement With Maxwell Technologies Includes Asia

Contract Covers Sales of Full Lines of Ultracapacitor

San Diego, CA, September 3, 2008…Tecate Group, a leading global supplier of ultracapacitors and capacitors, announced the latest expansion of their distribution agreement with Maxwell Technologies, a leading developer, and manufacturer of ultracapacitors, which deliver innovative, cost-effective energy storage and power delivery solutions.  Already an authorized distributor in North America and India, the new agreement adds the sales and supply chain services pertaining to Maxwell’s full ultracapacitor portfolio within Greater China and Hong Kong, along with the ASEAN countries including Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.  Aside from providing an additional sales channel for Maxwell’s ultracapacitors, the contract enhances both Tecate’s and Maxwell’s ability to offer a complement of design and logistical support to customers in the Americas, in collaboration with their Asian contract manufacturing partners. 

 

Maxwell Technologies’ ultracapacitor offering features RoHS-compliant parts in a broad range of sizes and modular configurations.  Notably, their Boostcap®Series of cells, modules, and accessories are widely employed in such applications as consumer electronics, hybrid cars, and renewable energy sources.  Their power-modules are commonly specified for use in UPS, telecommunications, lighter duty industrial electronics applications, as well as consumer products.  Tecate’s PowerBurst®  ultracapacitor modules, featuring Maxwell components, will now also be marketed throughout Asia.  Orders for prototype and full production quantities are accepted on Tecate’s online store.
