Tecate Group Announces Industry-Leading 3-Volt Family of Ultracapacitors

New TPLH™ Product Series Range from 650 Farads to 3000 Farads

San Diego, CA, June 6, 2019…Tecate Group today announced the introduction of its new TPLH™ 3V family of large threaded ultracapacitor cells. These five new cells range in capacitance from 650F to 3000F, manufactured in an axial-housing, industry-standard diameter of 60mm and with screw terminal connections (short or long). Additionally, these cells provide a seamless pathway to upgrade from Tecate's 2.7V TPLH™ series to the 3V TPLH™ series.

Key product features include compact design, world-class energy density, exceptional ESR, and superior shock and vibration protection. These cells provide a number of benefits to system integrators, including the ability to attain higher system voltages and deliver more power and energy with significant life and cycle performance. They can also enable integrated designs with fewer cells, resulting in smaller size, reduced weight, and lower cost. In addition, the TPLH™ cells can be used as a stand-alone solution or as an easy pathway for integration into custom modules or with battery technology to achieve optimal power, energy, and cost. The cells are ideally suited to supply backup and peak power in applications including UPS devices, AGVs, and smart-grid alternative energy systems.

These TPLH™ cells are RoHS and Reach compliant, UL recognized, and feature standard operating temperatures at -40°C to +65°C with a 10-year service life. Additional technical details can be found at
