Tecate now offers PowerBurst® Type TPLE Ultracapacitors

The new TPLE series of PowerBurst ultracapacitors is 100% RoHS compliant, and offers extended operating temperature up to 85C. Capacitance values range from 5 F to 100 F. Rapidly becoming designers’ preferred choice to supplement, and in some cases replace batteries, these electrochemical double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) offer extremely low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) for high power and low loss during operation.

A Battery-Free RAID adapter solution using Ultra capacitors

Ultra capacitors coupled with non volatile flash memory, allow the elimination of battery backed RAID adapters.  This addresses the green issues associated with battery hazardous waste disposal as well as eliminating the need for battery replacement/maintenance.  The EDLC capacitors, also known as ultra capacitors or super capacitors can be sized for the life of the system, and feature a wide temperature range and a cycle life of up to 500K cycles.
